Showcase
Applications are limited by venue capacity. Each selected startup receives a table, electricity and at least one chair.

Each selected startup gets a 1.60 m wide table, room for one or two monitors, power sockets and at least one chair. Places are limited by the space available in the room. If you need more room for demos, say so in the application field, and let us know if you are bringing a roll-up. We reply about selection by email; those selected are asked for a logo, ideally SVG, and a one-pager for the site.

Workshops
Three parallel sessions per day, scheduled for 17:15 after the coffee break. When registering, tell us which workshops interest each attendee: it is only a provisional choice, so we can estimate how many people will join each one. You can choose or switch on the day.

In the workshop “Compliant Mechanisms + AI: From a Flexible Part to a Product,” Francisco Mendes and Pedro Magalhães, co-founders of MAKE IT product R&D, demonstrate how to leverage these solutions in product development. Compliant Mechanisms: Mechanisms that use the elastic deformation of parts to transmit force and motion. Participants will be able to: - View and handle examples of hinges printed as a single piece. - Follow a design demonstration, from CAD to the use of AI, to explore flexible geometries. - Watch the 3D printing of a prototype during the session, following the process from design to physical part.

Going global is a very important step for new businesses! Going global is more than just “selling abroad” and finding customers in other countries. In this workshop, we’ll explore how to identify markets with potential, understand where the demand lies, and devise an appropriate entry strategy—even when resources are limited. We’ll discuss partners and first international customers, using practical examples and some of the lessons learned by those who have already gone through this process. By the end, participants will have a clearer picture of the steps needed to transform a local product into a solution with global ambitions, as well as the main pitfalls to avoid along the way.

No investors, no network, no big-city address. Just two founders in Viseu and a conviction that AI in production was missing its foundation. Then the doors opened, one after another: NVIDIA Inception, Cloudflare for Startups, Atlassian for Startups, OVHcloud Startup Program, Startup Portugal, signatories of the EU AI Pact alongside Europe's largest technology companies, and next, the Web Summit. We applied cold. Every single one said yes. There was no trick. They said yes because what we built solves a problem that matters, and we knew how to say it. This workshop is about that: how to find the problem worth solving, how to shape a value proposition strong enough that the world's biggest players want you in the room, and why where you build from stops mattering the moment what you build is real. If you're building something ambitious from a place the startup world has written off, this is the hour that changes what you think is possible.

Competitions
Finals take place after the workshops. Each startup may apply to one competition only.

Factory Floor (Sept, 30th)
Business ideas for the industrial sector. You do not need to have an incorporated company. The term “startup” is used in the context of this ideas competition to refer to “projects” (just ideas or already in development). Ideas may be submitted in all sectors of activity that are in some way related to industry. Development or optimization of tools/equipment for: - Planning - Design - Monitoring - Manufacturing processes - Maintenance Proposals for new components or equipment are also welcome. The set of slides to be submitted after registration and submission of the idea summary must contain the standard information typically required in “idea competitions” or “startup pitches,” specifically regarding the target market and the ability to execute (team, established or prospective partnerships). The use of AI is not mandatory and does not result in additional points.

Depending on the number of applications, there may be two subcategories: 1) Proof of concept: submit a demonstration. 2) Promise: an idea, service, or product under development. In both cases, it is not necessary to have a formal company.
