Biography
Stella Gonçalves has led Strategic and Operational Development at Laboratórios Basi since December 2025, with a solid and consistent career in quality, environment, and food safety. She holds a degree in Biological Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico (2002-2007) and completed an Executive MBA at Católica Porto School of Business and Economics in 2024, reinforcing her technical background with a strategic management perspective.
She began her professional path in 2007 as a Laboratory Technician (trainee) at Sofex Farmacêutica, in Massamá, and, later that year, joined Martifer, in Oliveira de Frades, as a Quality, Safety and Environment Technician, until 2010. Between 2010 and 2015, she worked at Prio Foods as Quality Responsible and at Nutre Industrias Alimentares, SA as Quality, Environment and Food Safety Manager, where she led the implementation and certification of management systems (ISO 9001, ISO 22000, ISO 14001, OSHAS 18001, IFS Food 6 and BRC Food 6).
Since 2015, she has built the rest of her career within the FHC/Laboratórios Basi group: starting as Microbiology Responsible in Quality Control, progressing to Quality Control Director (2015-2023) and, more recently, to Business Process Manager in the Efficiency and Operations Department (2023-2026), leading process management, strategic projects, corporate governance, and continuous improvement. She thus combines a foundational background in biological engineering, nearly two decades of technical expertise in quality, and an Executive MBA that underpins her current strategic management perspective.
