Biography
Hugo Gonçalves is currently IT/IS Director at The Navigator Company, a role he has held since 2023, where he leads the company's IT strategy and leadership. He has also served as an Advisory Board Member for the Department of Production and Systems at the School of Engineering of the University of Minho since 2024.
With more than 25 years of experience in information technology and digital transformation, he has built a solid career at leading industrial companies. He was IT & Digital Transformation Corporate Director at Sodecia and, prior to that, Information Technology Director at SONAE ARAUCO and SONAE INDÚSTRIA, while also serving on the board of GUSP (SAP User Group Portugal).
Before moving into industry leadership roles, he spent more than 15 years at SAP, where he held various consulting positions, including Consulting Manager, Head of Consulting Services for Business Analytics solutions in Portugal and Spain, and Project Manager, holding an IPMA certification in project management. He began his career as an ERP consultant at Symix/Dialpe and as a trainee at EUROFER, through a program from the University of Porto.
He holds a degree in Industrial Management Engineering from the University of Porto (1992–1997) and completed the MicroMasters in Digital Leadership from Boston University (Questrom School of Business, 2019–2022), further strengthening his expertise in digital leadership and technological transformation.
