Biography
António Lopes is the Director of Processes and Technology at Movecho S.A., where he has built a career since 2007 defined by industrial innovation, digital transformation, and the adoption of advanced manufacturing technologies. Throughout his tenure at Movecho, he has taken on increasing responsibilities regarding the management and optimization of production processes, the implementation of new technologies, and the development of automation solutions for the furniture and components industry.
During his time at the company, he has led industrial modernization initiatives, including the introduction of Large-Scale Additive Manufacturing (LSAM) systems, the integration of robotic cells using KUKA technology, the development of advanced CAD/CAM solutions, and the implementation of digitalization projects aimed at operational efficiency. He has also been involved in re-engineering internal processes and developing production management and planning systems, thereby contributing to the organization's continuous improvement in competitiveness.
Responsible for various Research, Development, and Innovation (R&D&I) initiatives, he has represented Movecho in national and European collaborative projects, notably INOV.AM, ASTREIA, and CIRCMATTWIN. In this capacity, he coordinates technical activities and partnerships with universities, research centers, and technology companies, fostering knowledge transfer and the adoption of new industrial solutions.
His work also encompasses the management of technology suppliers, the implementation of industrial software, the integration of robotic systems, and the development of new production capabilities linked to the circular economy and sustainability. He possesses extensive experience with technologies such as SolidWorks, Rhino/Grasshopper, PowerMill, KUKA robot programming, and additive and subtractive manufacturing processes.
